Andrea Belag

Andrea Belag (b.1951) lives and works in New York City and Far Rockaway, Queens. She attended Boston University, Bard College, and The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture. Belag’s paintings and works on paper have been widely exhibited and collected throughout the US and internationally, including Public Collections in the United States Embassy in Saudi Arabia, MTA Arts & Design Permanent Collection, Avenue U Station in Brooklyn, Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Jewish Museum in New York, Newark Museum in New Jersey, New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, New Jersey, Mead Museum at Amherst College in Amherst Massachusetts, and Sprengel Museum in Hanover, Germany. Honors and Awards include the MTA Arts & Design Commission (2015-2017), the Rockefeller Foundation Residency at the Bellagio Study Center, Italy (2003), the Yaddo Fellowship (2002, 2001, 1994), the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship (1999), the Blue Mountain Center, Residency (1993), the National Endowment for the Arts, an Individual Fellowship (1987), the New Jersey Council for the Arts, an Individual Fellowship (1984).
